Welllllll… it’s been silent here for quite a while! Christmas, post-Christmas, and New Years were a ton of fun, I just didn’t get around to writing at all. Luckily I took lots of photos to document the fun times. Here’s a quick recap of how I spent the rest of my winter break (though it isn’t much of a break because I’m done with school!)
- Went out with friends in Campbell and ran into many familiar faces. It’s kind of weird to unexpectedly see people from middle school and high school out at the bars. It’s like a little reunion every night!
- A couple days after Christmas, I hung out with friends and put my new fisheye iPhone lens [awesome Christmas gift from the stepbro] to good use. Pugs look even sillier when their faces are distorted in a fisheye ha…
- Like most breaks, I spent a lot of time parked on the couch. I started watching Breaking Bad [love it] and watched quite a few Warriors games. [[It's crazy that they now have an 8-game winning streak!!]]
- While in San Jose, I went to the gym only ONCE and went on one short run with the stepdad. I ran a total of 418.6 miles in 2013, quite a decrease from 751 miles in 2012. It was nice to spend the year focused more on dancing and other workouts.
- I also started a Yosemite puzzle that I got for Christmas, but left town before finishing it. So sad…
- After stressing about New Year’s Eve plans, the night came together at the last minute. My best friend Jessi came over, we stopped by the stepbro’s casa, and then joined other friends in Downtown Los Gatos. Best friends + great music + lots of dancing + champagne toast at midnight = perfect night.
- Highlight of New Year’s Day….. the best pizza. Garlic veggie is the best. We really started out on a healthy note ;)
- On January 2nd, I made the 5.5 hour drive down to Los Angeles to make it in time for dance practice. Holy cow… dancing after two weeks off is a struggle. We are going to be learning about 4 routines next week and I’m very excited! Because I love my dance girls, I went to the (mostly empty) school gym with my two favorite gym buddies. We did some cardio and then Aliyah put us through legs/arms/abs circuits. I’m guessing I’ll wake up with soooore muscles tomorrow. I think that happens after 3 months of no strength training.
- At least I had the women’s basketball game to move my muscles around a bit. Today was the first home PAC-12 women’s game and we beat the ranked Colorado Buffs 55-45.
It sure doesn’t feel like the weekend because not much is going on in LA-la-land. Students probably won’t be back until next weekend, and it’s kind of nice to have peace and quiet. I just got to Season 4 of Breaking Bad and I’m probably going to finish the series in a couple days.
Lauren will eventually post about Christmas… it feels like it was so long ago already!
Hope your New Year is off to a great start.
